Brief but NOT a "Tweet"
Running
doing
being
stopping
to take care of business.
I DECIDED
not to go to a business networking meeting
this morning at 8 A.M. in Alsip.
I Love "DECIDING"
I used to live my life by default.
I would let things happen by not making decisions or not taking action
and then live (small "l" as compared to "Live" with a capital.)
with the outcome.
I have 3 other Networking events which I will be attending this week.
They are all ones I Planned to attend.
They are reasonably local and potentially productive.
I already had a Mammogram scheduled at 2:20 PM
and a Dental cleaning and exam scheduled at 3:20 PM
The 8AM meeting was across town,
and I REALLY want to take a shower today.
Today, "I am NOT going to get another plate of crazy from the buffet!"
I will choose what is best,
And I will do what is humanly possible,
And I will end my day with a sense of accomplishment
rather than a feeling of exhaustion.
Because I was mindful of making decisions and choices yesterday,
I was able to get appointments for long overdue visits
to my dentist Dr.Jordan Kaplan and for a mammogram.
Yes they are back to back...
but that is what I call a "Me-sandwich"
Two hours of time spent exclusively on my body.
Sometimes (but not often enough) it could be
a pedicure and a hair cut.
Or a massage and getting contact lenses fitted.
If we will cram and run and do for others
and even for some relatively unimportant things in life...
why put our own body and sometimes even our own mental and emotional health
on the back burner?
I will enjoy my day today,
I will accomplish "what needs to be done today"
I will choose the best and Leave the rest
for tomorrow.

SING IT TO YOURSELF LOUDLY or softly...BUT MEAN IT! Change a few words around if necessary, so you are singing it to yourself... REALLY. . . you may start believeing and knowing just how beautiful and awesome you really are!

Anticipation, Awe, Wonder, Seeing Amazing transformations, Hope.
All of these inspire Goosebumps for me.

From reading my previous posts,
you may conclude that I am just all about the feelings and action and grins and giggles, and outward expressions in life.
I LOVE that stuff for sure...
but I also have spent a bit of my time
in areas of my life
feeling dead.
I spent some of my time on this beautiful planet,
just exsisting
and not really LIVING.
SO...Yeah,>>>At times I can be
a real "cheerleader for LIVING".
And it could seem that I am encouraging us all to be more...
"out there"...
...all of the time...like a circus...
But in spite of my "wild and crazy girl" thing...
I Love quietness, and stillness,
and even being alone sometimes.
I LOVE EATING ALONE sometimes.
I love sleeping alone SOMETIMES
I LOVE watching a movie alone sometimes
I LOVE dancing alone SOMETIMES
I LOVE DRIVING IN THE CAR AT NIGHT ALONE SOMETIMES.
I LOVE NOT To Talk Sometimes.
Quietness
Stillness
Listening
Anonymity
Invisibility
are all great qualities in a balanced life.
Laughter is good medicine...
but so are Goosebumps...
and the FEELING of JOY
Love and Peace of Mind,
Delight, and Clarity of Purpose,
to you and those you love,

I have Laughed so much in the past 48 hours,
and I plan to laugh even more today.
YEP! I PLAN to LAUGH...
Pretty weird, eh???
Laughter IS the best medicine!!

Laughter IS contageous!!
Laughter is the "music" of Kids!! ( I made that one up just now)
If you watch a comedy or a cartoon or other t.v. show with a humorous theme,
You will barely even notice the "Laugh-track" that you are hearing through out the show.
Next time you are watching a "FUNNY" show...
STOP listening to the show...
and tune yourself into the "laugh-track" in the background!
You will be surprised how much more fun you may have
listening to and focusing on
the sounds of a good belly laugh,
a great giggle,
or a crazy cackle.
Sometimes just imagining doing something TOTALLY absurd or crazy or unacceptable
can send us into fits of giggling.
Did you ever just feel like cracking up while someone was
telling you a seriously tragic story??
Did you ever have a random silly thought while at a wake or a funeral
and struggle to stay composed and somber?
How about at work???
Ever find the pretentiousness a bit suffocating?
Let go of a Laugh! Laugh Out Loud!
Even Surgeons tell jokes during surgery,
and what most of us do is NOT "rocket science".
Let's Rock The Space We're In with LAUGHTER!!!
For the next 5 hours (or so)
LET'S NOTICE or DO Funny, Absurd, or Amusing things
And let the Laughing begin.
Oh Yeah... Let me know what things tickled your fancy today!

Bordering On Magnificent MOTIVATION
I Am Still Becoming.
I know what my biggest obstacle in life is
and I am working daily on growing in spite of it.
How???
Because I have identified it.
And now I am FREE to FOCUS
Not on my obstacle,
but on my FUTURE.
The things I choose to DO with my life,
and the things I choose to talk about are
(for the most part)
the plans and activities and thoughts that move me forward.
Sometimes we are moving down the road,
ready for the next adventure ahead,
with a beautiful sky above us,
gorgeous trees or mountains or fields or even the Ocean alongside of us,
a nice breeze, or light refreshing shower or an awe inspiring thunder storm
with an incredible lightning show (whatever floats your boat)
. . . . . .
then all of a sudden we will look over our shoulder
and notice some "RoadKill" laying in the road.
Next we'll start remembering that road kill,
and begin to think about it,
and comment on it to others,
and describe it and even try to identify what it may have been
before it got run over.
Let's ROCK THE SPACE WE'RE IN !
Right Here and Now!
Let's Look at the road ahead
as an adventure we are ready to move toward.
The "road kill" happened and is not worth focusing on
and going back to look at it over and over
and take a big deep sniff of it's decaying carcass...
That's the same as going back to get another plate of crazy from the buffet!
MOTIVATION should be in the form of
anticipation,
acknowleging needed resources,
aquiring new information and skills,
attempting new things
and accomplishing what we humanly can.
(All of those start with the letter "A". Get it?)
If I ran the zoo...
The grade "A" or even "A+" would be given
for this kind of healthy effort,
and healthy focus.

Just taking a moment to share that whether it is
Hanging out re-connecting for 4 hours
as Valarie and I just did
(sitting in a booth at McDonalds)
Or just a quick cup of coffee
with an old friend
somewhere
between errands...
Re-connecting with the right people in your life
is a very good thing.
That said...
There are people who are good for us, and us for them,
and there are the rest of the people on the planet.
Who do YOU spend most of YOUR life (and time) with??????
It is your life after all,
and we live with our choices.
Even if the people you are around the most are family,
is that the best and healthiest choice for you, and for them?
Being around people who see the glass as half full,
even in the midst of their personal struggles,
is life giving.
This is true of good old friends,
and also of how to choose new people to share space with.
It applies to those in their 80's 50's 30's or teens and younger...
Spend some time with others who are where you want to be at in life.
Let's choose to BE someone who lifts others up by celebrating
their successes and their silliness with them.
Let's share space now and then with others
who can re-live and appreciate and value
the moments and milestones in life.
This can be expanding and challenging.
It helps us to remember what we have already accomplished
and gives a vision for all we are still capable of.
Let's spend time occasionally with someone
who can laugh till we both pee our pants (just a little)
This is a great way to re-charge
and see past the brick wall in front of us.
These ideas go back to occasionally eating with chopsticks
and other previous posts about
skipping on out of our "ruts" and comfort zones.
Let's get together this week with someone who knows the real us.
Not the ones who have the expectations
of how we always are and what we should act like.
Sometimes the person we become
bit by bit and year by year
is just a shadow of who we are created to be.
Let's ROCK THE SPACE WE'RE IN by:
Spending some time with others who help us remember what it means to
"jump out of a perfectly good airplane"
and maybe then
we will have a bit more LIFE in us to share
with those we share space with
at work, at school, at home, on the road,
or even in a line at the store.

Bordering On Magnificent VACATION TIME
That looked like vacation time up in the heading, didn't it?
But it's really: vacation...TIME.
I have approximately 197 hours
from this morning
through 3PM on Monday August 2nd
when I return to the "day job".
I would still have all of these hours even if I was not on vacation time,
but the urgency and opportunity to USE THEM WELL has even more potential this week.
Will I use them well??? or Squander them to sleep and mindless activities???
I know what I need and want to accomplish this week.
I know that having a plan and working the plan is the only way
to succeed at accomplishing my goals.
I already have made a most excellent choice in spending the next few hours...
I called a friend Valarie that I have not spent time with for quite a while,
and we are going to meet in a half an hour to re-connect.
There will be laughter!
There will likely be tears too at some point.
There may also be some kind of unplanned adventure...
Being with Valarie is a great way to start a great week of accomplishing things.
She has worked as hard and as consistently
at building a good life in spite of obstacles
as anyone I know.
Along with all of her other gifts to the planet...
She has raised a wonderful human being (her daughter Ashley)
with strength, love, grace and HUMOR!

I could go to church,
I could meet with a business consulting partner,
I could go to the library in search of motivation...
All Good Things....

this morning, together again, re-grouping,
