Bordering On Magnificent CONTRIBUTIONS
What can I contribute?
What do I have to offer today?
What have I given in the past?
What difference
does the contributions you have given
in the past
make in the long run?????
When someone dies,or moves away, or changes jobs,
their personal history dies with them for the most part.
Some times we kid ourselves into thinking that
the things that we do will be remembered after we are gone...
For the most part no one else really knows your history...
everyone is too busy with their own lives to remember the highlights of
even their closest companions on the earth,
or to discuss them for very long after their death,
or even while they are still alive and kickin'!
How often do you say
"REMEMBER WHEN YOU..."
or
"REMEMBER THE TIME WE..."
or
"REMEMBER THE WAY_______ USED TO_________"
(fill in the blanks with your own favorite memories)
Why do people continue to buy and give "default" gifts for others like
bath soaps and body gels and things that are scented and flowery and stuff
with out even knowing the scents and things that others like or really dislike and are even allergic to???
Isn't a real gift
one that leaves the person feeling that they are really
"known"
Wouldn't we do better to invest more time with our loved ones
getting to know them better and continuing to make memories,
than to waste money and time finding stuff that they will only want to re-gift?
I am not the best at remembering details,
but I want to Rock The Space I'm In with others
by taking the time to be a
"witness to their lives" and their personal history,
even if it is just sharing a remembrance of one of their personal successes from the past to let them know that their awesomeness has not been forgotten!
Scott, Tina, Frank, Jim, Victor,Rob D, Derrek,Jeff, Rob,Norman,Ralph,Steve,Nader,Jim,
and also my other awesome friend Dave.
These are some of the amazing people who "came before" and accomplished great things working as a team, and who often spoke of the mighty exploits of those that came before them.
Who is the band of warriors in your life that you have shared mighty exploits with???
They could be in your Family, Friendships, Business Partners, or Volunteer Groups.
ROCK THE SPACE YOU'RE IN by calling one or two of them up today, and remind them of their place in your history and in your heart.
Post a comment here about one of YOUR warrior friends
so we can all celebrate them.
Love and Peace of Mind,
Delight and Clarity of Purpose,
to you and those you love,
Joy

Bordering On Magnificent RESPECT
Who doesn't want to be liked?
Being liked seems to be near,
or at the top of many peoples lists.
Bob Burg says
"People will do business with those that they know. like, and trust."
Being liked is a good thing.
But I have also found in my many years
"Rocking The Space I'm In". . .
that people in work situations at their job,
often worry about being liked by everyone,
rather than being respected by the essential people.
Who do you RESPECT where you work?
We should show respect to everyone,
but who are the essential people
that you admire and actually have respect for?
These are generally those who are problem solvers not blamers.
This is the person who gives you the TOOLS and INFORMATION
to do the job successfully.
This person does not walk in "mouth first"
but rather; enters a situation,
with their eyes and ears, observing...
usually many minutes before they are even noticed.
You do not find them gossiping about others,
because they are far to busy
finding solutions and working on situations.
The person who is worthy of RESPECT
is the one who will go TO you with a concern.
They are the ones who invite comments
which seek resolution or solutions,
they are not into negative whining and pessimism.
I want to be more and more each day
a person who is worthy of respect
by the way I RESPECT others.
I don't really want to be "liked" by everyone...
I desire and earn the respect
of the essential people in my life
by growing each day,
and learning from what those whom I respect
have taught me over the years.
ROCK THE SPACE YOU'RE IN BY:
RESPECTING the Essential ones in your life,
AND RESPECTING YOURSELF!!!
REMEMBER...
You are NOT 5 years old!
You can not "Get in Trouble" at work...
You can only get "fired"
Loose the fear!!!
Live Fully!
Love and Peace of Mind,
